“This carnival is great,” Sasha said to Adrianne. They decided to go at the last minute and they were so glad they did. It was so much fun. Sasha was playing so many games and riding rides that she had not been on since she was a kid. They were having a great time.

“Yes it is,” Adrianne responded as she took a bite of the cotton candy that she had been bugging Sasha about since they arrived an hour ago. “Who knew they could fit all of this on our old high school grounds.”

The alumni committee that put the whole fundraiser together also planned this small carnival for Sunday afternoon trying to capitalize on all of the former students who were in town. Sasha knew they had to have met their goal because there were tons of people who had turned out for both activities.

“Check out who it is over there,” Adrianne said as she pointed at Patrick. Sasha’s eyes glanced over at him and it took all of her might not to let them show delight. He looked so amazing in his blue jeans and the nice sweater he had chosen to pair them with. He was so handsome to her. More handsome than ever now that she had spent time with him. Patrick’s gaze found her eyes and he quickly made his way over to them.

“I think he is coming over here,” Sasha said. He was being awfully bold coming over to talk to her.

“The nerve of him,” Adrianne got out before he was standing right in their faces. He gave Sasha a warm smile.

“Hello ladies.”

“Hi Patrick.”

“Patrick,” was all Adrianne could muster up. Sasha rolled her eyes. Adrianne was not going to let this be easy. She could cut the tension with a knife.

“Nice to see you Adrianne. I hear you got married. Congratulations.”

“Thank you. Happily married.”

“That’s great.” He turned his attention to Sasha. “You want to ride the Ferris wheel with me?”

“Sure. That sounds like fun.”

Adrianne scoffed at her, but Sasha didn’t care. It was a ride. He didn’t ask her to marry him. They got in line to get on the Ferris wheel.

“Are you enjoying yourself?”

“I am. I am happy that I decided to come on out.”

“Your arms look a little empty. You haven’t won anything?”

“No. I suck at playing these games. My arm and my eyes don’t line up.”

Patrick laughed at her. “I will win you something when we get off this.”

They got on the ride and he put his arm around her. Sasha loved the warmth he was giving her on this cool day. She actually snuggled up a little closer to him. “Man you are making me warm. Thanks.”

“Anything for you sweetheart,” he whispered in her ear. He was flirting big time and Sasha had to admit she was enjoying it, although she shouldn’t be. She also knew that Adrianne had her eye on them, so she couldn’t show her too much enjoyment.

She scooted over a bit, giving them some space.

He scooted back to her, pinning her against her side of the seat.
